This is the first draft in my Blast from the Past series. We started by exploring our early childhood, so around the years of 2nd grade and before. I was living in London for a portion of that period, and that greatly affected my life. I represented that with multiple pictures from London, one of the cobbled streets and another of a stadium me and my dad used to go to a lot. And then I have a few pictures of random pop culture items that affected my life.

Team Celebration
Vlad: Vlad has made significant progression since the start of the class. Almost all of his photos have a very dreamy and surreal feel to them. Vlad's use of the iphone and the effect tilt-shift definitely play a part in creating this sense. Vlad has always attempted to give his photos a "dreamy" feel, but his progression is shown in his ability to properly create this effect better and better throughout the year.
Lucas: Lucas has shown excellent progress as a photographer throughout the year. A consistent theme in most of his photos is that of a darker, grittier, realism. He almost never uses any vibrant colors in his work. He seems to prefer street photography, and has progressed in that area as well. His shots have become much more refined, while he also has improved at finding those little treasures that make for such a great photo.
Iris: Iris has really improved at photography throughout the school year. A common theme throughout many of her shots is usage of close-up photography. Specifically common are the Avedon esque portraits. Her portraits have really progressed from the "say cheese" style to shots that capture real human emotion. Her most recent series really puts on display her improvement. Her shots of her little brother are excellent work. But my favorite series by her was one that is a little different that most of her work. It's from a while back, but she did a great job with her extra credit project taking pictures of clouds.
Kenna: Kenna has done a lot of good work in photography this year. Her skills have also improved heavily throughout the year. She has a preference towards cityscapes, making it her strongest area. Her most recent series shows this progression specifically. The series displays Kenna's strong ability to find small things that make for great photos.
Kendall: Kendall is an excellent photographer who has shown solid progression throughout the year. She is a pretty versatile photographer, experimenting in many different areas and styles. The only real common theme is her tendency to focus and smaller, seemingly irrelevant objects that make for great shots. I really enjoyed her most recent leaf based series. It was definitely creative and different, and I liked that she challenged herself with a series that could potentially be difficult.
Thayer: Thayer is a strong photography who has steadily improved throughout the year. She has always had a preference for photographing people, which has evolved into two very strong series of candid photographs. Her shots have gone from being a little rough and blurry at times to much more refined and focused. Her candid series is innovative and a lot of fun to view. It's unique and certainly challenging. Her shots from the two series really do an excellent job of capturing humans in natural states portraying real emotion.
Fatima: Fatima has really improved in photography throughout the year. While she is pretty versatile when it comes to what she is taking photos of; most of her shots lack color and have a very realistic feel to them. This theme has been common in her work throughout the entire year. At the start of the year, she created this effect somewhat, but no it is clearly present in all of her work. Her most recent series is really an excellent example of this improvement.
Deanna: Deanna is a strong photographer who has made good progress throughout the year. She has a preference towards portrait pictures, creating many strong series incorporating the style. Deanna does an excellent job of capturing a range of genuine emotions along with using a multitude of angles and distances.
