Halloween

Our most recent project in photography was basically a Halloween photo shoot. We were given a number of creepy masks, costumes, and other items to give our photos a Halloween feel. I mostly focused on close ups of individual pieces, such as masks, a skull, and a hand. I also used more of the features on picnik.com to edit my photos than ever before. I used a number of the features to attempt to make the pictures more frightening/scary. Hopefully you enjoy!

Short Stories

This is a rough draft post of our most recent project, Short Stories. We use figurines or live actors to create a story through photography. It can be a set of pictures, or a still shot that tells a story. I had some problems getting macro mode to work, and most of my pictures didn't come out well. The one set that worked was a story  using toy soldier figurines.

Portrait Pictures

Our most recent photography project was portraits. These pictures of consist of a singular model, a plain background, and are generally focused on the face or upper body. The idea was inspired by Richard Avedon, known for his groundbreaking work in the portrait field of photography. The last picture is an exception to this rule, as I wanted to experiment with a more noticeable background and a full body shot of my model. It was difficult to get the models to do what you wanted, as multiple cameras right up against your face can be uncomfortable and awkward. I just took a bunch of pictures, and looked for the few where my model relaxed and generated some genuine emotion. These are the final results, enjoy!

Chinatown

In our most recent photography project, we went to Chinatown looking for interesting shots. The place was rich with different opportunities, and it was easy to find unique and exciting new spots to take photos in/of. Their is a mix of styles in these pictures, though two are set against the backdrop of a clear sky. I hope you enjoy!
